Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair
Inguinal and femoral hernias are commonly referred to as groin hernias and becoming increasingly common. So common that in Western Australia, around 10,000 people need a hernia operation each year. Unfortunately Hernia’s will never repair themselves.
Laparoscopic Abdominal Hernia Repair
Sometimes, a part of an organ (such as the intestine), protrudes through the incision site from a previous surgery. This is called an abdominal hernia. The surgery to fix abdominal hernias is minimally invasive, and most patients can return to normal activities soon afterwards.
Several thousand patients need gallbladder surgery each year in Western Australia. Keyhole gallbladder surgery is today the “gold standard” treatment for gallstones, and whilst this surgery is common, it is still considered major surgery.
The tube from your mouth to the stomach, or the oesophagus, sometimes develops problems with the muscles that cause gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).With GORD, food or stomach acid moves from the stomach into the oesophagus, causing heartburn and other uncomfortable symptoms. Fundoplication is the most common procedure used to correct GORD.
